What this means in practice

• We decide what to cover and recommend before we look at whether a product has an affiliate program. Commission rates don’t change our recommendations.
• Affiliate links are marked in the code as sponsored, and guides that contain them say so near the top of the page.
• Retailers don’t review or approve our guides before publication, and nobody pays for placement.
• Prices and availability change. Always check the current price and details on the retailer’s site before buying.

Programs we may participate in

We may join affiliate programs run by pet-product retailers and brands, including through affiliate networks. When we do, those programs may place cookies in your browser to attribute a purchase to our link — see our privacy policy.
