What Wagisk is
Wagisk is an independent guide site for people living with an older dog or cat. We focus on one stage of life — the second half — and on the everyday problems it brings: getting into the car, managing stairs, sleeping comfortably, and keeping a home safe for stiff joints.
What we cover
Wagisk is about the whole senior-pet setup, not one product. We started with mobility — ramps for cars, trucks and furniture, because getting into the car or onto the sofa is often the first thing an aging dog loses — and we’re expanding category by category:
- Mobility & access: ramps, pet stairs, support slings and lifting harnesses.
- Sleep & rest: orthopedic and memory-foam beds, bolstered and raised beds, warming pads.
- Home safety: non-slip rugs and runners, gates, night lighting.
- Feeding & hydration: elevated feeders, slow bowls, water fountains.
- Calm & comfort: calming wraps, car and crate comfort, routines for anxious older pets.
- Senior cats: low-entry litter boxes, cat steps and ramps, warm resting spots.
Each new guide follows the same rules below. Where a product question becomes a health question — supplements, medication, pain — we point you to your vet rather than to a product.
How we write
- One problem per guide. Each article answers a specific question — like how long a dog ramp should be for your vehicle — rather than a general topic.
- Numbers you can check. Where a choice depends on measurements (heights, angles, weight ratings), we show the math so you can apply it to your own pet and home.
- Trade-offs stated plainly. Every product type has downsides. We say what they are.
- Medical questions go to your vet. We are not veterinarians. Our guides cover comfort, access and home setup — not diagnosis or treatment.
How Wagisk is funded
Wagisk is reader-supported. Some guides link to products sold by other retailers, and we may earn a commission if you buy through those links, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide what we recommend, and we label these links. Details are in our affiliate disclosure.
